Improving Accessibility To Outdoor Recreation.
Today getting started in outdoor recreation without existing connections to the outdoors through family, friends, or community can be extremely challenging. Many Kiwis are eager to be more physically active and engage in outdoor activities but face many significant barriers that prevent them from doing so.
When an individual has no existing connection or knowledge they are likely to head online for information.
However, despite the abundance of outdoor resources, organizations, and clubs available online to help individuals advance in outdoor recreation, discovering and accessing these opportunities is near impossible without prior knowledge, connections, or guidance from someone within that sport.
Rhea is a mobile application designed to make outdoor recreation more accessible for Kiwis of all experience levels by overcoming these barriers. It connects users with outdoor events hosted by knowledgeable enthusiasts and clubs, curating options based on user preferences, location, and available time. Rhea also provides access to relevant clubs and outdoor locations, helping users find suitable communities and places to further develop their skills.
